Nightmares: Multiplayer Horror Privacy Policy

Nightmares – Privacy Policy

Privacy Policy

Nightmares (com.redour.nightmares) · Redour · Effective date: September 27, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Redour ("we", "us", "our") handles information when you play Nightmares (the "Game") on Android. By installing or using the Game, you agree to the practices described here. If you do not agree, please do not use the Game.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Information you provide

  • Player name (nickname). The name you choose is shown to other players in rooms, lobbies and in-game chat. Do not use your real name or any personal information as your nickname.
  • Chat messages. Text messages you send in multiplayer rooms are delivered to the other players in the same room through our multiplayer provider. We do not store chat history on our own servers.
  • Room names and room codes you create or enter to join multiplayer sessions.

1.2 Information collected automatically

  • Device and technical data such as device model, operating system version, app version, language, and general region (country, derived from IP address).
  • Network data such as your IP address, which is necessary to connect you to multiplayer servers and to deliver ads.
  • Advertising identifier (Google Advertising ID), used by our ad provider to serve and measure ads, subject to your consent and device settings.
  • Usage and gameplay data such as app opens, session length, maps played, match results and in-game events, collected through analytics to help us improve the Game.
  • Purchase data. When you make an in-app purchase, the transaction is processed by Google Play. We receive a purchase confirmation (product, transaction ID, status) but we never receive or store your payment card or billing details.

1.3 Information stored only on your device

Game settings, your nickname, in-game currency, unlocked characters and cosmetics, equipped emotes and the "Remove Ads" status are stored locally on your device. This data is not sent to us and is deleted when you uninstall the Game or clear its app data.

We do not require you to create an account, and we do not collect your real name, email address, phone number, contacts, photos, precise location, or microphone audio.

2. How We Use Information

  • To provide multiplayer features: matchmaking, rooms, room codes, synchronization and chat.
  • To show advertisements and offer optional rewarded ads.
  • To process in-app purchases and restore purchased items such as "Remove Ads".
  • To understand how the Game is used, fix bugs, and improve performance and content.
  • To remotely configure the Game, for example to notify you when an update is required or available.
  • To prevent fraud, cheating and abuse, and to comply with legal obligations.

3. Third-Party Services

The Game uses the following third-party services, which may collect information as described in their own privacy policies:

4. Advertising and Consent

If you are located in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, the Game asks for your consent through Google's consent form before personalized ads are shown. You can choose non-personalized ads. You can also:

  • Reset or delete your Advertising ID, or opt out of ads personalization, in your device's Settings → Google → Ads (or Settings → Privacy → Ads).
  • Purchase "Remove Ads" to stop interstitial ads. Rewarded ads remain optional and are only shown when you choose to watch one.

5. How We Share Information

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only:

  • With the service providers listed in Section 3, solely to operate the Game.
  • With other players, limited to your nickname, chat messages, and in-game character and actions while you are in the same multiplayer room.
  • When required by law, or to protect the rights, safety and property of our players or us.
  • In connection with a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, in which case this policy will continue to apply to your information.

6. Data Retention

Locally stored game data stays on your device until you uninstall the Game or clear its data. Multiplayer session data is kept by Photon only as long as needed to run the session. Analytics data is retained by Google according to Firebase's retention settings (no longer than 14 months). Advertising data is retained by Google according to its own policies.

7. Data Security

We use reasonable measures and rely on reputable providers that use encrypted connections to protect information. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Children's Privacy

Nightmares is a horror game and is not directed to children under the age of 13 (or the minimum age required in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will take steps to delete it.

9. Your Rights and Choices

Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR in the EU/UK or the CCPA/CPRA in California), you may have the right to access, correct, delete or restrict the use of your personal information, to object to processing, to data portability, and to withdraw consent at any time. Where we rely on consent, withdrawing it does not affect processing carried out before the withdrawal.

10. Data Deletion

  • Local data: uninstall the Game or clear its data in Settings → Apps → Nightmares → Storage → Clear data. This removes your nickname, progress, currency and settings.
  • Advertising data: reset or delete your Advertising ID in your device settings.
  • Analytics or other data: email us at the address below with the subject "Data Deletion Request". We will respond within 30 days.

Please note that purchases made through Google Play are managed by Google and may be retained according to Google's policies.

11. International Transfers

Our service providers may process information on servers located outside your country, including in the United States and the European Union. Where required, such transfers are protected by appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with a new effective date. Continued use of the Game after changes take effect means you accept the updated policy.
